Only 100+ racers?...piece of cake.  I may be able to catch a nap or two.  @Honda, I wouldn't be anywhere else during the MR340.

Pancakes being served at Kaw Point.  Music playing.  Canoes everywhere.  Looks like there's gonna be a race or something this morning.

62 degrees, Sunny with high fluffy clouds.  Before you get to LaBenite the fog sets in fairly heavy.  It should burn off soon because of the ncie sunny weather.

6-man boat was the 1st through LaBenite at 9:28 am.  Next is Texas 2-man 1845 (Condie, Vandeever) at 9:31.  Then, men's solo 1091 (West Hansen) at 9:31.  Men's solo 0005 (Matt Dressler) at 9:32.  Men's solo 9599 (Ron Ladzinski).  Men's solo 0924 (Ryan Roe) at 9:33.  Men's tandem 1300 (Mann, Slebos)

Fog is above the paddlers and doesn't seem to be an issue at this point.  That's what I have for now.

Can anyone add any info on the guys that were through Ft. Osage at 11:07?  Are they wake riding together?  If they are, is it friendly wake riding?

First boats are through the 1st checkpoint.  Don't know what type boats and I think it will always be "friendly wake-riding" until the end...just saying.

Ladzinski is paddling an Epic V8 surfski, and I believe Hansen is paddling an Epic V12 surfski.

I guess I should have been more clear.  In terms of friendly wake riding, the info I was aiming for was are the paddlers working together sharing the work load each taking a turn as the lead boat pulling the rest the others in pack?  This is what I meant by friendly wake riding.

Conversely, the other situation would be that one boat is the workhorse (this happens sometimes willingly and sometimes unwillingly) and the other boats are just drafting and not taking turns pulling as the lead boat.  In theory, this is a great benefit to the boats who are not pulling, because this allows the non pulling boats to gain speed and save energy.  If the lead boat does not want to pull the boats in the draft, but has to pull them because they need to maintain speed or position, this is what I mean by unfriendly wake riding.

Many times too though, a deal is cut between boats in different classes for one boat (usually the smaller or slower boat) to be remora just hanging on to the other boat for a free ride.

Can you tell that I miss being in the race?  Smiley  As always, thanks for the updates.
